Safety at Your Party

Ever think that you wouldn’t know what to do if there was an emergency at your event? I didn’t either until I attended the BizBash Expo and Awards in Downtown LA. Things to consider when planning an event and walking the site:
- have a first aid kit on hand
- know where the emergency exits and extinguishers are
- never block a door or doorway
- train your employees in first aid and CPR
- abide by fire codes
- inquire into the certifications of the venue staff
- learn the security and evacuation plan of the venue
- communicate emergency protocol clearly with all vendors
- create a security plan for all events
You never know when an emergency will happen, whether it is a natural disaster (earthquake) or an unforeseen emergency (a heart attack). Either way, be prepared for the unexpected.
